  Fred's Beds started off as a great experience, but once money is exchanged, and their mistakes come forward, that is when things become unprofessional. I ordered a King Size bed from the Kannapolis location, specifically informing them that I HAD TO HAVE THE BED ON THE FIRST, as this is when I was moving into my new home. "Not a problem" they stated, as long as I paid them a deposit prior to their ordering date of Saturday (this is Wednesday). I call the very next day to let them know we would like to purchase the bed, and I paid the deposit over the phone with them, no problems. I go in 2 days after that to pay them the balance, and ask to confirm that the bed will be in on time for delivery. The gentleman searches the office for a few minutes and finally finds us on the clipboard. He did not realize I can read everything he is looking at. Next to our bed, I see 6/6. This is the date that is exactly 1 week after I need the bed, and I did not say anything. That very next day I receive a phone call that the bed did not make it on the truck for "some reason," and that my bed would be delivered on 6/6. Hmmmm, seems to me that they already knew that, but did what they had to do to make a sale. Their offer for the mistake was that I could pay more to upgrade to "Twice the bed" at discount of $50 since they only have 1 left in stock, how convenient??? (Small Tangent) Come to find out, the bed I have just ordered and the one they are trying to get me to buy instead, both of them are being discontinued as they are selling off what stock they have to make room for the new model, all information I find out after the purchase. Back to my original point. My wife and I do not want the more expensive bed, we want the bed we chose that was in our budget, so we decide to just wait it out and use an air matress. Here is what really bothered me. My previous bed was the same size, but I was under the impression that the new bed came with frame rails, it doesn't, and I take full responsibility for giving mine away. So I ask very politely if they could at lease work a deal with me on the rails, since I have waited an extra week, and I did not take the $50 deal offer for the upgraded bed. Response, and I quote, "I don't have $50 to give you." My jaw hit the floor. I didn't ask for his lunch money, I asked to be compensated in some way for the time I have slept on an air matress instead of my $600 investment that I have already paid for. I reiterated that is not what I was asking for, I just wanted to know if he could give me some sort of deal based on the situation. I quote again, "Well, it will come to $81 and change, but I can round it to $80 for you." Jaw again hit the floor. I simply stated to please deliver my bed with the rails, and I will pay the delivery guys the $80. Thank you so much Fred's Beds, that's why I will choose to by from the OTHER local guy next time. Quality of product great, as well as the delivery guys who set up the bed in record time. Thanks to those guys.
